Round, rifled, 11 mm cal. barrel (clean bore, clearly visible rifling), marked "WHITWORTH PATENT", provided with foresight and rear sight with foldaway sight leaves, numbered at the base, with breech shaped as a parallelepiped featuring marks of the Birmingham test bench, serial number "15xx" and stamps. Folding tang/bolt on the back of the gun, marked "WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT". Browned. Forward spring lock marked "Westley Richards & Co." and dated "1862" within a triangle. Wooden full stock with iron mounts and ramrod. Leather strap.
