Iron skull with black horsehair band (some missing parts); brass front decoration with a crowned eagle with the Savoy shield, holding flags and oak leaves in its claws; armoured leather chin-straps, with brass plates decorated with palmettes in relief (broken closure), the cheek-pieces with petal decorations in relief; brass crest with floral motifs in relief, with palmettes at the base, trophies with weapons and armour on the front border, the plate at the base with crowned monogram "CA" (for Carlo Alberto) surrounded by laurel fronds, the upper border culminating in a lion's head. The border of the brim and the nape-guard covered with brass, inside lined with black leather. Inside the helmet, a black leather cap.
