Original drawing made by José de Zamora during the 1920s for the costumes of a theatrical performance. Artwork published on page 159 of the volume "Non solo Erté: Costume design for the Paris Music Hall 1918 - 1940" by Angelo Luerti, published by Guido Tamoni Editore in 2006.

Literature

Artist of Spanish origins, José de Zamora grew up in the atelier of the famous French stylist Paul Poiret, a specialist in fully understanding the secrets of how to "dress" the female nude. He created an incredible number of variations on the theme, always in the name of chaste and refined eroticism. In the 1920s he helped create costumes for a large number of revues staged at the Casino de Paris (1920-21), the Ba-ta-clan, the Concert Mayol (1922-27), the Palace (1923-28) , at the Moulin Rouge (1924-27) and at the Folies Bergère (1926-29).
