Illustrated with frontispieces and plates engraved in two states, by Howard Pyle, W. H. W. Bicknell, James Fagan, and Edmund Garrett, the first state of each plate signed by the artist in pencil and each protected by a vellum slip, numerous headpieces and tailpieces and other illustrations in the text and photographic reproductions in the final volume. Fine red morocco binding with rich phytomorphic decorations in color and gilt to the covers, four-ribbed spine with gilt titles and decorations, minor defects to some bindings.
