The reason for the sale is due to the death on August 14, 1710 of Gio. Giuseppe Bonaventura Rovereti who left his wife and eight children “debts ascending to the sum of Ragnesi five thousand, five hundred, eighty-three”. The interests accrued on these debts push the Rovereti family to “alienate a farm with stately and rural houses and arable and vineyard and meadow assets located in this district of Trento called in Martignano, and Piazina”, then follows the detailed list of properties. The transfer is in favor of Pietro and Giuseppe Altemburger brothers. Below is the detailed list of debts left by Bonaventura Rovereti, for a total of 5583 Ragnesi [these are the Rhine Florins, the currency used since the 14th century in that area], and the relative installments of payment by the Altemburger family, 4 installments to be precise. At the end of the sale, the cost of the farm will amount to 20843 ragnesi, after deducting the 5583 of previous debts, the Rovereti family will have the sum of 15260 to distribute among the various heirs for the various needs. The deed of sale is signed by the notary Antonio Ceschini at the bottom of the document in question, on the back of c.13, with a regular notary stamp/seal. Below is the list of the "Transfers and Releases" relating to the many creditors of the deceased, who will be paid by the new buyers (debt release acceptances). Precious legal document containing interesting details on the management of properties, the division of debts and revenues and in general on the administration in Trentino in the 18th century.
