Paris, Jean Mariette, 1720. In 4°. 56 double-page plates, some folded several times, and 84 full-page copperplate plates, a fine copy in its contemporary sponged calf binding, title on the spine on a red label, red spray edges, worn.

Fowler, 33° - Ornam.St.Cat. 2389/90 (another edition). - Second edition of the “Cours d'architecture”, considered the best work of architectural theory in France for over a century. The beautiful ornamental engravings show buildings by Michelangelo and Vignola, as well as gardens, column arrangements, ceiling ornaments, portals, cornices, plinths, fireplaces, stoves, etc.
