The Peripatetic philosopher Demetrius Phalereus (Phalerus, 345 BC - circa 282 BC) was a disciple of Theophrastus and governor of Athens. According to Strabo, it was Demetrius Phalereus who proposed the foundation of the Library of Alexandria. The present edition is the reprint of the 1562 edition, without significant changes.
