Arrivabene was one of the most influential members of Clara Maffei's salon. Director of the magazineIl barbiere di Siviglia(which later became Il Figaro) and close to the music critic Francesco Regli, he was the support of Giuseppe Verdi from the beginning of Giuseppe Verdi's career teacher and his friend for fifty years.
