Splendid celebratory memorabilia of the great Lina Cavalieri (Viterbo, 25 December 1874 – Florence, 7 February 1944), soprano and excellent film actress. It is a substantial volume in large 4th, 330 x 255 mm., a sheet album that collects newspaper clippings, posters, stage programs from approximately 1901 to 1906, for over 300 individual documents. They range from the short article to the dedicated insert, cut from Italian but also foreign newspapers given Cavalieri's international success. § Together in the Firrao, Luigi lot. She was the great icon of her time: from singer to opera singer, then actress, whose extraordinary physical and aesthetic appearance always ended up having the upper hand, so much so that Gabriele D'Annunzio defined it as the "Venus on Earth". A son had at a very young age and five husbands, but first of all - it is said - something like 840 marriage proposals!
Lina Cavalieri was defined as "the most beautiful woman in the world", because this was the wonderful label with which she it was identified. And if this wasn't enough, let's add the words of Gabriele D'Annunzio, who certainly understood women and who referred to her as "the greatest testimony of Venus on Earth". In the "Belle Epoque" period, Lina Cavalieri conquered with her beauty and her grace as a true lady, despite her humble origins. Her presence on the opera scene, in an era of puritanism, brings an authentic breath of sensuality (polite, however) and brings to attention the supreme expression of female beauty of her time; if perhaps he didn't excel in terms of voice, he managed to exalt himself and exalt himself with stage presence and acting, decisive assets in the era of realism.
