Autograph poem and signed on one sheet of paper in 8° recto/verso, 208 x 133 mm. Purple ink, traces of paper folds and halos, two lines erased. Signed at the end: "From the Pineta, near the sea, at sunset, 5 October 1879.", on the left in the lower corner, "G. d'Annunzio (Floro)".
The poem, with the title Ora soave, appeared in the first collection of D'Annunzio's poems, entitled Primo Vere. This autograph bears witness to some significant variations, from the title, to verses 6, 9-10, 12 etc. It is therefore configured as a precious witness to a probable first draft of the Elegy, dedicated to Amalia Panzoni, who in the printed version simply becomes Lilia.
