Frontispiece engraved with portrait of the author, 5 engraved frontispieces, headpieces, 116 beautiful plates illustrating the entire text, SPLENDID EXAMPLE, IN AMATEUR BINDING in green long-grain morocco signed Gozzi di Modena, with frame triple fillet on the plates and spines divided into compartments and decorated in gold, refined dentils and doublures. Printed bookplate of Sir John C. Hobhouse and his ownership note.
