Frontispieces with allegorical figures engraved in copper by Tasniere based on a design by Piola on both volumes, typographical mark engraved on wood on the title pages, and repeated at the end of volume I, woodcut drop caps and friezes, slight marginal halos, some foxing, contemporary calfskin binding brown, compartments on the spine with imprinted title and friezes in gold, missing and scratched.

Original edition of one of the most important historiographical works relating to Turin, begun by Tesauro (who created the first five books of the first part) and by Giroldi (author of the remaining two of the first part) and completed after about 30 years by Ferrero of Lavriano . The first volume. narrates the history of the city from the time of the Taurini (5th century BC) to the 14th century; the second volume. reaches up to the 17th century.
