Second edition, much expanded and updated compared to the Lyon original of 1660, of this grandiose and fundamental historical-genealogical work on the House of Savoy, accompanied by the diplomatic transcription of a large number of documents, many of which have been lost over time and of great importance for the history of Piedmont, and adorned with a splendid iconographic and heraldic apparatus. At the end of the fifth volume, there is - with its own title page, Turin 1780 - another work by Guichenon, not present in all copies, also originally printed in 1660 and expanded here: the Bibliotheca Sebusiana, followed by a short text compiled by C.G. Hoffmann on the life and writings of Guichenon. The volume ends with the alphabetical list of the subscribers to the work. Manno-Promis, I, 26; Spreti, 1924; Colaneri, 867: “Very important work especially for the very fine engravings of the portraits, coins, coats of arms and sepulchral monuments of the glorious House of Savoy.
