Specialist Notes
Giovanni Albini's work, on the deeds of the Aragonese kings, was published posthumously, for the first time in 1589, by his nephew Ottavio Albini who added with the title "Letters of instructions..." all the official documents that came into Giovanni's possession in the his capacity as Librarian and Advisor to Alfonso II. See Soria I, p. 5. Giustiniani, p. 80: "Because of the style with which he wrote and the truth with which he was able to narrate things in his six books, Albini deserves to be held in the highest esteem among all".
