With a folded intaglio table describing the "Main prospectus of the Thermal Baths", frontispiece in red and black, initials and friezes engraved in copper, small woodworm holes on the upper and lower internal margin and at the corners, some slight foxing, very elegant coeval binding in red morocco with arms of the dedicatee of the work, Cardinal Casali framed by a rich and elaborate frame, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, gilt edges, title on spine with 5 raised bands with gold friezes, small restoration on the spine, very slight defects.
Copy of dedication to Cardinal Antonio Casali (Rome, May 25, 1715 - Rome, January 14, 1787). Destined from an early age to an ecclesiastical career, he turned out to be a passionate jurist. He held the position of President of the reverend Apostolic Chamber and in 1766 he was appointed Governor of Rome. Among the innumerable activities that involved him, he paid particular attention to the improvement condition and reputation of thermal baths of Viterbo as well as Nocera Umbra.
