Specialist Notes
Gabriello Simeóni was a polygrapher, born in Florence in 1509 and perhaps died in Turin after 1572. He was at the court of Francesco I (1528) and Cosimo de' Medici (1538). He went several times to France and introduced antiquarian scholarship there. From 1560 he lived in Turin.
