Paris, J. Bulla et F. Delarue, 1842. In foil, litho frontispiece with title surrounding a trophy arms, equestrian portrait, colored in watercolor, of Ferdinand - Philippe d'Orleans drawn and engraved by Janet-Langs, followed by 7 plates lithographed by Victor Adam which depict the events of his death and the sumptuous apparatuses up to the funeral mass held in the Cathedral of Notre -Dame, minor defects, coeval half leather binding with corners, gold title on leather tag on the cover. 



Specialist Notes

Ferdinando Filippo Duke of Orleans (Palermo, 1810 - Nevilly, 1842), eldest son of Louis Philippe King of France and Maria Amelia of Bourbon, daughter of Ferdinand IV, King of the Two Sicilies. A leading figure of his time, he enjoyed great popularity (before he died in a tragic accident with a carriage) for his marked military skills demonstrated in the siege of Antwerp (1832) and in the Algerian Campaign (1835).
