Toscolano, Paganini, 1527. In 8°. Elegant Paganini cursive font, spaces for initials with drop caps, marginal flourishes, marginal restorations on the last three leaves, beautiful hazelnut calfskin binding with gold decorations on the spine, red sprayed edges.
Edition edited by Giovanni Gaddi, humanist scholar, who in 1527 was in Venice immediately after the Sack of Rome in the company of Varchi. Nin the letter to the readers preface to the work, he recommends the "very elegant translation into the Tuscan language made by Iacopo di Messer Poggio..." because "whoever reads it will draw great fruit from it, because with the knowledge of ancient things he will be able to more easily judge the modern ones".
