Specialist Notes

Extraordinary programmatic text where all the futurist hostility against still lifes is professed, seen as the symbol of traditionalist painting. "The Italian futurist movement affirms that the usual "still lifes" or in any case asleep cannot be the expression of the heated contemporary life nor are they a natural reflection of our spirit which, being typically Mediterranean, is by racial fatality varied solar dynamic and rich in human fantasy ." Thus we read in the proemial text, FUTURISM=ANTINATURAMORTA. And even more effective are the words of Marinetti's subsequent intervention, entitled TESTING. The authors abolish the title page and begin the work directly with "the anti-life manifesto".
