I and II works: first editions. The project of the People's Bank intended to found a credit bank that could allow «the work that has always obeyed, to command; and to capital, which has always commanded, to obey» by inverting the balance of power. It was a short-lived experiment, only five months, but Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, undoubtedly one of the first theorists of an alternative credit system, influenced many subsequent credit management experiments, arousing enthusiasm among the workers' associations who set themselves the cooperative goal .
