Very rare original edition.Paolo Mattia Doria (1667 - 1746) constitutes an essential point of reference for the study of southern thought in the first half of the eighteenth century: not only because he deserves the praise of Vico, who he dedicated “De antiquissima Italiorum...” to him with profound admiration, but also because it fits into almost all the strands of the Neapolitan philosophical-scientific culture of his time, reflecting its situation and developments in his writings, almost always autobiographical and polemical.< /div>
