Specialist Notes
Rare first edition of this valuable work on Venetian painting. Cicognara 976: "very interesting operetta done by a distinguished connoisseur of the arts". Dedicated to the Archduke of Austria Leopold William, it is a "venezianade": a poem written to exalt Venetian virtues and in particular.
