Specialist Notes
First edition of the Italian translation by Lucio Fauno. Systematic reconstruction of Roman public and private life. The work is divided into ten books. The first nine are dedicated to religion, administration, militia and private institutions. The tenth and last book, which also gives the work its title, is dedicated to the triumphs, symbol of Roman greatness, and ends by dreaming of a Christian triumph, modeled in the old fashioned way, at the conclusion of the crusade against the Turks, and thus reaffirming the idea of the Church as the true heir of the universality of Rome.
