Brescia, for Pietro Vescovi, 1776. In 8°. 233x171mm. The author's name comes from the dedication, on fol. *3r, addressed to Count Girolamo Fenaroli, errata paper at the end of the volume not always present, copy in beards. Modern half leather and cardboard binding. 

Specialist Notes

Original edition of this rare and interesting dissertation, recited on April 27, 1775 "in a public meeting of the Agricultural Academy of Brescia".
Scientific investigation by Maggi on the influences of the Moon: "... the Moon must truly cause alterations and perceptible effects in many terrestrial bodies (...)" which he defines as "physics action...and mechanical action". In the second part of the booklet the meteorological effects are studied, "Delle meteorological observations", pp.49-96. 
Riccardi II, 94: "Contains some astronomical notions as a foundation of the meteorological argument of which deals primarily".
