Venice, A. Brucioli, 1546, and on the colophon 1545. In 2°. Typographic brand on the title page, colored in the past, and also at the end, illustrated capital letters, text arranged in 2 columns, some millwork, stains, modern parchment binding.
Rare edition of this lexicon dedicated to Cosimo de' Medici. Brucioli undertook this enterprise in an attempt to be recalled to Florence after he had been exiled from it in 1522. Instead, it was Arlenio who was called to Florence, where he worked in the service of Torrentino. It is known that in the period immediately following the printing of the Lexicon, the Brucioli typography was involved in the accusation of clandestine printing of heretical works by Francesco Negri, Alfonso Valdes and Bernardino Occhino.
