With 30 b&w illustrations. full page and 20 black line vignettes on squared and ocher decorated pages, minor defects, coeval half leather binding, spine with five compartments entirely decorated in gold with the title and friezes with geometric and floral motifs, original covers preserved in lobster red illustrated by Rubino with delicate fairy-tale figures.
Second edition, perfectly contemporary to the first and typographically identical to it (it is, in effect, a second edition issued to saturate editorial requests, as the first edition is limited to only 500 copies), of one of the most exquisite figurations of the Italian twentieth century , in which Rubino's poems for children blend admirably with the illustrations. The volume is considered the first Italian artist's book for children.
