Second illustrated edition, the first by Johann Grüninger. The most characteristic element of this edition is the series of woods that illustrate it. Each section is introduced for the first time by a full-page woodcut that brings together all the protagonists. The smaller woods at the beginning of each scene are made using separate blocks, allowing you to rearrange the composition as desired. Comparison with other known examples effectively highlights more or less significant variations in the illustration.
