Specialist Notes

Work I: First edition of this funeral oration, in prose and verse, in honor of Torquato Tasso. Curiously, the prayer was entrusted to the care of a Florentine, whose city had never loved Tasso in his life: just think of the criticisms leveled at the Jerusalem freed by the Accademia della Crusca. Gamba 1549 n.
II work: First edition of the funeral oration held by Amaseo in honor of Paul III in 1549 and printed, as an act of filial piety, by Pompilius, the author's firstborn who many years he worked to collect all the unpublished writings and orations of Romulus. The author was a great man of letters and a personal friend of Bembo, he often worked with the papacy, so much so that his funeral was paid for by Julius III. Adams A, 910.
III work: & nbsp; Uncommon edition of the commentary on the Gospel of Matthew by the Doctor of the Church St. John Chrysostom. The edition is dedicated to Giovanni della Casa. & Nbsp;
