Parisini, ownership notes on the title page with restoration at the white lower margin (second original title page preserved in the volume), restoration on the upper white margin of c.a3, c.185 supplemented on old paper & nbsp; marginal browning on some papers, scattered notes, binding in chagrin from the 16th century. XIX, title imprinted in gold within a 5-pin spine, slight defects. Modern stamps of possession on the guard card.

First edition of this lively, and richly illustrated, emblematic book by Paolo Maccio from Modena, which presents an interesting iconography of contemporary life in Bologna. The valuable engravings are the work of major artists active in Bologna in those years; one of the tables depicts one of the earliest representations of the telescope.
