Brescia, & nbsp; Arundus de Arundis, for Franciscus Bragadinus, [circa 1505]. In 2nd. Large frontispiece with Brescia coat of arms supported by two cherubs, base and peacock, map of Brescia and territory - "Brixiae et Agri Geographia" - 405 x 302 mm. detached and perhaps from another copy, text in elegant round font with inhabited drop caps, modern binding in half parchment and cardboard with title on red insert on the spine. & nbsp;

Specialist Notes

RARE EDITION, THE FIRST, OF ONE OF THE MOST ANCIENT STORIES OF BRESCIA.
There are twelve books on sheets numbered LXXIII with at the end a Carmen by G.B. Carmelite Mantuan in praise of Caprioli. The work was first printed in this edition and was so rare that it was paid up to thirty florins. It was then translated and re-published under the title "Della Storia Bresciana by M.Elia Cavrioli lib. XII, vulgar facts by M.R.D. Patrizio Spini, Bresciano Canon. Regular of San Salvatore and abb. Of Candiana and added after Cavriolo what has followed until to year 1585 and again added two other books by Cavriolo ".
