I work: & nbsp; It is part of the series 'Histoire et description de tous les peuples'. Initially a doctor, Guillaume-Antoine Olivier (1756-1814) became one of the most authoritative French naturalists and entomologists. He traveled for a long time in the Eastern Mediterranean countries, collecting a rich collection of naturalistic specimens from Turkey, Asia Minor, Persia, Egypt. The Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris preserves its vast collection. He became friends with the well-known entomologists and arachnologists Johann Christian Fabricius and Pierre André Latreille of which he was patron
