Florence, Vincenzo Batelli and Figli, 1838. With 67 tables of geographical maps (numbered I - LVIII), astronomical, orographic and hydrographic, including large folded ones, with a slight period coloring, slight blooms, few papers with slight browning, some rare halo,
Authoritative geographer, as well as fervent and active from Mazzini, Marmocchi (Poggibonsi 1805 - Genoa 1858) elaborated important works of statistical-descriptive geography, dedicating himself with passion to the reports of explorations and travels. Relevant for his time is the approach to the discipline "understood as a science of the territory, but also as a comparative description of the economic and social conditions and ways of organizing the States" (Landucci, p. 387)
