Venice, Sub signo solis [Isabetta Basa], 1601. In 4th. Planetarium engraved in wood on the title page, numerous illustrations and tables in the text, initials and woodcut friezes, letterpress mark at the end, reinforcement on the outer margin of the title page with traces of stamp and card with numbering applied to the reverse, slight blooms, some small stains, binding coeval in parchment, traces of handwritten title on the spine, handwritten title on the lower cut, flaws on the hinge, some stains, slight flaws. & nbsp;

Rare edition of this important commentary on the Sacrobosco Sphere, edited by the Jesuit astronomer Clavius from Bamberg (1537-1612), a staunch supporter of the Copernican astronomical theory.
