Edition edited by Charles Estienne, whose name appears in the preface, of this work on the war boats of antiquity (first edition, Paris 1537). Giuseppe Bencivenni Pelli (1729-1808) Florentine patrician owner of the book, he was the last exponent of the Pelli family, historian, essayist and director of the Uffizi Gallery from 1775 to 1793.
