First edition of this poem in 10 cantos in octaves on the discovery of America and the navigations of Columbus, published by Alvise Querini with his name in Arcadia [Ormildo Emeressio] and born with the ambitious intentions of tracing, on this theme, the great Ariosto and Tassian poetry. Querini was a scholar and ambassador of the Serenissima in Paris. This is his most significant literary work.
