Venice, in Academia Veneta & nbsp; [Nicolò Bevilacqua], 1559. In 4 °. On the title page, a copperplate engraved typographic mark of the Venetian Academy, a beautiful figured woodcut initial letter, a slight splash of water on the white margin of some paper and sporadic blooms, binding from the 15th century. XX in red Moroccan signed Gozzi, decoration engraved in gold, plates framed by a triple fillet, back with 5 nerves, small flower iron compartments, gilded cuts. On the title page, note of possession of the century. XVII by Nicolas Noguette and the Jesuit College of Paris, ex libris by Giorgio di Veroli and Manhattan College on the counterplate. & Nbsp;

Specialist Notes

Elegant and rare edition from the presses of the Venetian Academy, born in 1558 in Venice on the initiative of the patricians Federico Badoer, Domenico Venier and Girolamo Molino. It was also known as & nbsp; Accademia della Fama because of their publishing brand. Paolo Manuzio took care of everything that was printed in the Academy, both as curator and typographer.
