Specialist Notes

Original edition.
Martino Martini, born and raised in Trento (Prince-Bishopric of the Holy Roman Empire), was a Jesuit missionary. As a cartographer and historian, he worked mainly on ancient imperial China. Regni Sinensis a Tartaris Devastati Enarratio is a later version of the De Bello Tartarico Historia and an important work on Chinese history. Martini himself, in fact, had experienced the frightening events that led to the overthrow of the ancient Ming dynasty. The works have been published several times and translated into different languages. & Nbsp;
