Specialist Notes

RARE EDITION of this important surgical manual, summa of all the surgical science of the time, which had a great popularity and was reprinted several times in Italy and in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries. The work consists of two parts: the first five books devoted to the theme of tumors, wounds, ulcers and fistulas, trauma and dislocations; the second part (entitled the surgical operationes) examines the different types of operations, indicating for each the best surgical instruments to be adopted. INTERESTING THE TABLES of medical and surgical instruments. Fabrici taught Anatomy in Padua, where he had trained with Falloppio. From 1565 he was officially called to occupy the chair of surgery, which he held until his death after the conferral of the chair for life in 1600. Doctor of illustrious personalities, including the Duke of Urbino, Carlo de 'Medici, Galileo Galilei (who recommended him to succeed the chair of Mercuriale in Pisa), Paolo Sarpi etc., combined teaching and practice with a rich scientific production, which he expected especially in the years of old age. & nbsp; Lot not liable to return
