With 126 emblems accompanied by woodcut engravings and a poem, an example with restorations that marginally affect the mirror of the text, on rare occasions with partial loss, light burnishing, rare and light stains, binding of a later period in parchment with leather ribs, case in leather with dry impressions on the plates, some peeling and signs of wear, a woodworm hole. & nbsp; & nbsp;
Specialist Notes
First edition of Bonhomme and Rouillé. The wood carvings are now attributed to Pierre Eskrich and were created in imitation of those by B. Salomon for Jean de Tournes. Adams A-604; Brunet I, 148; Harvard Fr. Books 15-16 (pp. 16-17).
