Venice, Nicolini da Sabbio Domenico, 1599. In 4th. 2 parts in 1 vol. Woodblock mark on the title page, wooden headers and initials, restored title page with facsimile of the author's portrait, white cards c6 and 2Z2 missing, [pigreco] ² missing, tear restored to EE2, some slight halo on the first cards , blooms, some redness, rare small spots, coeval binding in full rigid parchment, manuscript author and title on the spine and on the lower cut, slight defects.

Paolo Paruta (Venice 1540 - Venice 1598) politician, writer was official historian from 1579. Man of literary, philosophical and legal culture, he opened a private academy of political and moral sciences. & Nbsp; In his public career, he held prestigious positions in a continuous political rise: he was administrator of the Chamber of Loans, wise of the mainland, administrator of fodder, member of the Sixties, governor of Brescia, ambassador to Rome and procurator of San Marco. He was appreciated for his diplomatic prudence and his valuable intellectual skills.
