Specialist Notes

Giacosa agrees with Giuseppe Gallignani to hold a conference, hopefully the one entitled Impressions of America which already "caused a furore in Venice". Gallignani was an Italian composer, organist, conductor and music critic. Director of the Conservatory of Music of Parma, thanks to his deep friendship with Verdi he became Director of the Milan Conservatory in 1897. & Nbsp; In December 1923, Giuseppe Gallignani committed suicide by throwing himself from the Milan Cathedral following the dismissal imposed on him by the then Minister of Public Education, Giovanni Gentile. & Nbsp;
