Venice, Giovanni Pietro Brigonci, 1676. In 12th. Vignette on the title page with a small view of Venice, friezes and xylographic initials, some handwritten notes, missing the eye, small holes in the title page, light browning, traces of humidity, some stains, modern canvas binding, red Moroccan patch on the back with author and title stamped in gold. Ownership note on the title page.

Specialist Notes

Second-born son of Cristoforo and Beatriz Enriquez de Arana, Fernando Colombo (1488-1539) accompanied his father on his last journey in 1502. He was a writer, geographer and mathematician, strenuously committed to solving the problem of calculating longitude.
