With numerous illustrations in black and white, some issues detached from the back of the first volume, slight blooms on a few papers, rare small spots and pencil annotations, editorial binding in green canvas, dry-stamped frame on the plates, title, author, number of tome and publisher imprinted in gold on the spine, partially detached from the body of the text in the 1st vol., detached from the body of the text in the 2nd vol., slight abrasions and some small stains on the plates, defects in the backs. Ownership note on the title pages and deleted note on the guard card.
