Paris, Marcel Prault, 1768. In 12th. Portrait of the author in front and frontispiece engraved on copper, elegant coeval binding in red moroccan with embossed decoration in gold, plates framed by triple fillet frame, on the back smooth gold friezes and green leather gusset with title, golden cuts.
Specialist Notes
Nice Parisian edition in small format, embellished with an intaglio front door with a portrait of Tassoni signed 'Demautort Sculp. 1768 'and with a beautiful frontispiece - also engraved in copper - made by François-Antoine Aveline (1718-1780), of the well-known family of French engravers of the same name, based on a design by Jean-Michel Moreau (1741 - 1814).
