Specialist Notes

The Memorial of Sant'Elena & nbsp; is a book made up of reflections and memories collected by & nbsp; Emmanuel de Las Cases & nbsp; in the literary form of & nbsp; memorial & nbsp; of & nbsp ; Napoleon Bonaparte , which he himself exposed during almost daily conversations held by the emperor with his friends, including Las Cases, during his exile on the Sant'Elena island . & nbsp; The work, as well as providing some anecdotes about Napoleon's daily life in Sant'Elena [2] , it also contains, in an essential form, the emperor's reflections on his youth, the story of his military campaigns and the vicissitudes of his exile to St. Helena, also expressed through particularly critical judgments towards politics adopted against Napoleon by the British governor of the island, & nbsp; Hudson Lowe : for this reason, the manuscript was seized upon its departure from the island at the end of & nbsp; 1816 , and was returned only after Napoleon's death, in & nbsp; 1821 .
