London and Paris, Duchesne, 1757. In 8th. Woodcut frieze on the title page, headboard and friezes engraved in wood, light burnishing, slight scattered blooms, marbled guard cards, contemporary binding in marbled calfskin, initials and crown stamped in gold in the center of the plates, title stamped in gold within a red patch on the back smooth with phytomorphic friezes, slight defects.

Specialist Notes

Jean-François de Bastide (1724 - 1798) was a prolific French writer, playwright and journalist, the son of a Provence magistrate.
