On the title page, a brand depicting a woman leaning with her left hand on a stump, holding the mask in front of her face with her right hand and motto on the sides, in the fine volume lion lying on a shelf holding a flower between her paws, under the shelf a shield. Tied with. Benedetto Varchi. Funeral Prayer on the Death of the Most Reverend Cardinal Bembo. Florence, Doni, 1546. On the frontispiece a seated woman holding an upturned torch on the right, an olive branch on the left, at her feet lies a mask, enclosed in an oval, slight restoration at the outer margin of the last card, Jansenist binding in red morocco with gold fillet on the plates.
