Venice, Paolo Baglioni 1638. In 4th. Small eye, woodblock mark on the title page, some flourishes, ancient parchment binding reassembled, smooth spine with manuscript title and author, plates covered with marbled paper, blue spray cuts.
Specialist Notes
Third impression corrected by the author himself, Henrico Caterino & nbsp; Davila & nbsp; (1576-1631), historian of the French wars of religion. Its name derives from that of the king and queen of France & nbsp; Caterina de 'Medici and Henri, Duke of Vendome. His Historia - which covers the period from 1559 to 1598 - was enormously successful.
