Modena, Nicola Zanichelli and associates, 1864. In 8th. With 1 lithographic plate at the end of the volume, half-title, title page dated 1864, slight and rare blooms, very light burnishing, modern cardboard binding with author and title stamped in gold within a red gusset on the spine, both plates of the original paperback are preserved inside , some halo on the paperback, partially detached spine of the binding, halo on the front plate.

Rare first Italian translation by G. Canestrini and L. Salimbeni of Darwin's work published in England in 1859. Complete copy of the lithographic plate and plates of the original paperback.
