Specialist Notes

A well-known treatise in which the Calvinist jurist Claude de Saumaise (1588-1653) advocates the legitimacy of the application of a fair interest on the sums lent. Through a careful excursus of the Greek and Hebrew tradition, with numerous passages in the language, he contributed to deconstruct the stigma on this practice, long condemned by the Catholic Church. & Nbsp;
